Initiative Financing

Phase 1 of the initiative totals roughly $140 million, the graph depicts the breakdown of how the gap will be covered over the ten-year period.  With an initial capital investment of $70 million from donating institutions and individuals to be distributed strategically and replaced gradually by new financial mechanisms developed by SERNANP to generate revenue until we bridge our budgetary gap by the end of the Phase 1.  The graph below depicts the funding gap within our protected areas to reach an effective management level in our 38 Amazonian protected, that represent phase 1 of the initiative.

Phase 2 will include the protected areas of the Andes, and the coastal and Marine areas.
